Wish List: Has It Really Come To That Time Of Year?

I haven't written for a while because I have been so busy but I'm back with my MASSIVE wish list this week! I'm super excited as I plan on shopping for all (well at least as far as my pay check can get me) these items for the oncoming winter months and I just had to share them!

I'm starting off with this amazing leather and cotton long line biker jacket from none other than ASOS.com. As much as I have expressed my slight love ( maybe obsession I don't know), this is an ABSOLUTE MUST and it is actually in very low stock right now and I am hanging on PRAYING that 1 jacket will be there waiting for me like a little baby should. (I'm already calling it my baby and it's not even mine yet, somebody help me).

I love this jacket because it is rock chic with a sophisticated vibe to it, which means I can use this jacket to dress up but also dress down if I'm in very formal wear which I think is perfect. It's something I could wear with anything which is great as it would be one less thing to worry about when deciding what to wear I'm the morning! Thank God it is navy blue, I get to steer away from the typical black theme which we all seem to fall into when it comes to the colder months, no matter how hard we try, it just happens. It is now £57.00 instead of £95.00, so it now ticks all the boxes because who can really resist a sale item? Definately not me that's for sure. Ŷ

ASOS provides me with the second and third thing on my wish list right now: TIGHTS! If I'm being very honest I used to think that tights were just a way to keep warm so I never thought of them as anything major. Now  have realised that they can be used as art on  your legs! Why not?! You are going to be covering those perfect set of legs and you have to draw attention to them somehow! You keeping warm AND showing off a bit of individuality and you can always find tights for a bargain! These are £8 each and one has a leopard print which I have a slight obsession with right now. Then there is the New York skyline tights are perfect because I am IN LOVE with New York, and I think I'm going to be stocking up on a lot of these and so should all of you! Do you have a favorite pair of tights right now? Have you bought your statement jacket for this winter?

I need ASOS ASAP!

It consumes all my time and all my money but I regret NOTHING! Whenever I've had those down days, I would get onto this website and I would feel so much better, *cough* shopaholic in the making *cough*. It doesn't help that there is new arrivals practically everyday so I've always got something new to admire, but I just can't help it! Although a lot of their clothing is not very purse friendly, I still can't help but put a couple of items on my basket. The apparel is all about taking a classic piece and messing it up without ruining the main principle of the item and I LOVE it! I've got a thing for taking a normal outfit and making it different and less mainstream, so when I discovered ASOS, it was like my world had finally come together. It has more of a grungy feel to it which I've only just begun trying out which I have been loving! Did I mention the ASOS Marketplace?! You can get one of a kind pieces for a BARGAIN! If you haven't been on there you should, its INSANE the clothes people have lying around in their homes!

So of course as my little tradition I have going right now, I have made a little outfit! The difference today is that today every item here is all form one source and that it is of course ASOS! It is a 'night out with the girls' look with my favorite two things right now: beanies and triangles! My favorites are the beautiful neon yellow heels and the triangle earrings because 1)neon brights are my favorite brights and 2) they are both in triangular shapes (did I mention I like triangles?)

Message today? Nothing that I haven't said before but expect me to be saying this a lot. Don't be afraid to step out of the box! If you shop in the right places and you just set your mind to it, you will find and build the confidence to! And anyway, who wants to be mainstream anymore?

What are your favorite piece/s from the outfit? Do you shop at ASOS? If you don't, are you going to now? Because I believe you should!

WARNING: I take no responsibility for your new addiction ;)

Can I be Forever 21 please?

Forever 21. I mean who doesn't want be forever 21? (Actually I can't say anything because I'm not even 20 yet, but let's just go with it). Forever 21 has become one of my all time favourite retailers in a VERY short space of time. It is a relatively new shop, taking the world by storm with its modern yet unique style pieces. There is not a single person who does not know Forever 21 and is loved by fashionistas everywhere, even if they don't particularly wear their clothing. The reason why everyone loves Forever 21 so much is because while the clothing can be very simple and basic, they aren't scared to bring styles straight from the catwalk and teach everyone how to wear it, even the less confident. It is where I shopped first when I finally decided to break out and have my own and it's great because it makes simple fashion trends a little different and I love that.

This is my favourite new arrival at the moment, a Leopard print faux fur beanie! (£7.99 at the moment)
I love it because a lot of people have taken to wearing beanies but they all the same mainly black with the words either 'obey' or 'love' and I find those so basic! So why not stand out wearing all black with a cute little leopard beanie on top, maybe a pleated skirt with a leather jack pet or a varsity jacket! Add a bit of edge and it is a great attention grabber!

What would you wear this with? Do you shop in Forever 21? What's your favourite new arrival?

Celebrity Style Day 6: Jennifer Lawrence

'May the odds be in your favor'

Jennifer Lawrence, famously known for her roles in Silver Lining and the Hunger Games Trilogy, she is everywhere at the moment.  You would never see her in the papers for doing bad 'diva-ish' things but more for how much of a great role model she is. Jennifer never takes advantage of her riches and she has always kept herself grounded. If you saw her walking past you in the street, you probably wouldn't  recognize her. THAT is just how simplistic she is. You wouldn't necessarily find her in the next Mulberry creation but in New Look and Topshop pieces (that she isn't afraid to say she found on sale). She never dresses up unless she HAS to and I think that is why she is so loved. Lots of celebrities say they are down to earth, but Jennifer doesn't have to say it,she just is. Her style is so easily copy-able and its a great place to start if you are looking for a more subtle style. She loves wearing the monochrome trend with maybe a splash of color and ALWAYS a pair of heels, and below is my take on her style and how I would would wear it.

Dress - Topshop, Jacket - H&M , Heels - www.makemechic.com, Socks - Topshop, Bangles - Accessorize, Chain - Primark, Ring - www.target.com and Earrings - www.mimco.com

I love this outfit because it could be dressy, but it could also be quite casual as the heels aren't very high and the denim jacket adds a bit of edge. The two finger ring is my favorite piece as they are very trendy right now and the diamante bow is very blingy and girly which describes me perfectly.

'Even when I was a teenager, I never considered failure.'

Jennifer has so much confidence in herself which is so inspiring, and I leaving you with a short message today. You should always just believe in yourself. I say this quite a lot but it is true. If you can dream about what you want, then it must be reachable. Take all those risks and chances, What have you got to lose?

Celebrity Style Day 5: Iggy Azalea

'Let's work'

I have 2 more days left of my Celebrity Style Series and day 5 is inspired by the gorgeous Amethyst Amelia Kelly. Or as you are most likely to know her, Iggy Azalea. She is someone that I can never stop staring at because she has seriously beautiful face, and don't even get me started on her body. She has a perfect figure and whatever she wears just looks so glamorous! Though I should add she's a Wilhelmina Model. Makes sense? Of course it does. She definitely dresses like a model considering that she is a rapper, originally from Australia but now based in the US. She is a versatile dresser as she doesn't have a particular kind of style, I think she's one of those people who picks up and wears something if its pretty, which can have its advantages and disadvantages. Advantage: You could wear practically wear anything and everything; Disadvantage: THERE IS SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM H O W DO YOU PICK WHAT TO WEAR?! However, she has modern take on style, so her style isn't something you haven't seen before, but what makes her stand out is her iconic platinum blonde (very long) hair. I have never been a hair and makeup person but if it wasn't for her hair and her stand out facial features she wouldn't be very memorable.

(First Outfit) Jacket from House Of Fraser, top from www.cherrycherry.com, jeans from John Lewis, Blazer heels from Harrods, Bag from H&M, Earrings from EBay. (Second Outfit) Pinafore from www.storenvy.com, top from Selfridges, Shoes from Debenhams, Socks from Forever 21, Bag from EBay, Earrings and Necklace set from www.fossil.com

I found trying to find an outfit for Iggy, the hardest so far because she changes up her style quite a lot so I went for a casual but a little dressy look because it is the only way you can sum up the way she dresses. I picked a pinafore because she is quite girly and she would probably wear with a pair of dressy heels, but I dressed it down a little by adding a pair of socks and a backpack so it would be easily transitional from an afternoon shopping and a lunch date, to evening wear by just changing socks and the bag. By far, my favorite item is the tartan jeans, tartan is completely taking over for the Autumn/Winter season trends (I will do a post on how to dress with Tartan really soon; so watch this space!). Iggy is also today my inspiration for the message of the day. She has always said she wants to take the way society thinks she should be and turn it upside down. I think she has kept to that as you wouldn't have expected her to be rapper because stereo typically she would be a bubblegum pop singer with pig tails and the most famous boyfriend on the planet. So what i'm saying to you today is don't fit into your stereo type. Try to stand out. Just because you like to wear the color black does not make you a goth. Being pale faced with blue eyes does not mean you have to be a girly girl. Be who you want to be. Step out of your stereo type otherwise you will get stuck with it and you know that's not really you. If you want to start being who you want to be, there is no better time than NOW. Anyway, weirder people are better people!

What's your favorite item from the inspiration outfits? What's your stereotype? Are you anything like your stereotype? I know I'm definitely not like mine!  What do you/will you do to step out of your stereotype?

Celebrity Style Day 4: Miley Cyrus

'We can't stop. And we won't stop.'

Another person that has been all over magazines, Miley Cyrus. It's hard to think she was once a Disney princess and now 'twerking queen' as she and 'smilers' like to call her.
Personally I thought the change was really drastic but I really like it. She wants to get rid of her kids TV queen image which I guess could get quite annoying when 10 year olds run up to you asking for a picture with Hannah Montana. Her style changed the most going from floral dresses and long beach babe curls, to outrageous sky high heels and a blonde quiff. Miley has become very controversial with her maybe not so family appropriate performances and has become a bit like marmite: it's either you love her or you hate her. She turns heads with her read carpet appearaces, recently her outfit to the VMAs which caused up a storm, some calling her 'horns' an art and some comparing her to 2 year old kids. However, I think her street style is a statement. She is flamboyant, some might say she dresses a little too much for the sake of the fact she might only be going to Starbucks, but her outfits need confidence and that's something she has in bucket loads.  She can pull off an outfit any time of the day and I  think in the fashion world she needs more recognition. Its not everyday you see someone in a lace black dress at 5am and then in a pair of sky high thigh boots and fury shorts at 7am, huh?

(First Outfit) Jacket from www.NORDSTREET.com, Floral Crop top from www.AE.com, Denim Boyfriend Jeans and cut out ankle boots from Topshop, wings ear cuffs from www.ATTITUDECLOTHING.com, and the ring from www.StyleBop.com. (Second Outfit) Cage Top from www.SASSANDBIDE.com, crop net top from www.AWWDORE.com, disco pants from American Apparel, pointy heels from Zara, boot heels from www.stylishplus.com, bangle from lindeleplais.com, earrings from River Island, and the neck statement from www.1DSTDIBS.com

Miley has had hate in the millions from music lovers calling her names but the smash hit and record breaking single 'We Can't Stop'  has a message in it that I'm going to be giving to you today. 'Remember only God can judge ya, forget the haters, 'cause somebody loves ya'
That is very true. Forget about all the fears you have about somebody hating and do whatever YOU want to do! If people are hating on you, its because they are jealous and wish they could be just like you! Miley never cares about all the hate she gets because she knows that she has masses of people loving her to bits and that is all that matters to her! She also promotes being different as well as the glorious Gaga. She doesn't conform herself to society and she expresses herself in her music and her style choices. Miley is more of a role model than you may think...

Celebrity Style Day 3: Lady Gaga

I'm back and if you haven't met me on my blog before then its nice to MEAT you! (D'ya get it? I know that was disgusting I'm so sorry)

Lady Gaga. I don't really need to put in much emphasis because we all know who she is, if you don't you have probably been living under a rock on Mars. When she first appeared on the music scene with 'Poker Face' (which I still burst out singing with the actions), everyone knew she wasn't going to be the typical pop musician, and boy did she prove us right. Apart from her controversial, however meaningful, songs and music videos, she knew how to make headlines with her outfits including the forever famous meat dress, where my, er hilarious, pun came from. Gaga always knows how to make an event hers, she is never afraid to go all out and her confidence stands every time. She could be wearing practically nothing (and let's not act like that hasn't happened before), but because she just simply doesn't care it looks good. No one can dare to say she is slutty because she always seems to still have that air of class which I adore.
My favorite from the 5 above is probably the first one because not very many people could pull off something like that, and it just seems to suit her so well. She always has her head held high and she is never embarrassed or self conscious, even if she is, she does an amazing job at hiding it. I respect Lady Gaga so much and she is today my inspiration for my message for you. Don't be afraid to be different. Being different means you are unique and that you are something special. If you want to wear that heavy eyeliner, if you want to wear those skyscraper heels with metal skull studs,if you  wear that badge for that rock/indie band you love, (can I just here suggest 1975, AMAZING band). From the moment Lady Gaga set foot onto the music scene, the only thing she has ever promoted is that being different is a GOOD thing and that everyone should embrace it. So go out there and be YOU. Don't conform to society and what it thinks you should be. Normal people are boring, weird people are amazing creatures that are becoming rare. Go and start that fashion trend. You never what may happen, and anyway, what have you got to lose?! All you can do is gain!

Celebrity Style Day 2: Cara Delevinge

'Model of the moment' Cara Delevinge is next on my list of favorite celebrity styles. Think of any reputable fashion designer and she has probably been on their runway or healined their campaign, that is seriously how popular she is right now. She has been linked with the likes of Rihanna, Rita Ora and of course the one and only Harry Styles, and she has a massive, dedicated fanbase on Twitter and Instagram, known as the 'Delevingers'. She is one of the most in demand and desired models and it doesn't come as a surprise that she has been in and on every fashion magazine you can think of.

Modern and quirky is what I would describe Cara's sense of style. She doesn't dress boldly but she definitely has heads turning when she walks into a room. She isn't one to always cake on make-up so when she does doll herself up a bit, for those special occasions, she looks absolutely stunning and she NEVER seems to over do it. Her favorite ensembles for the important nights out are her suits, she loves to wear a suit with simplistic tops and jewelry and her hair is always natural. She just lets her distinctively gorgeous facial features do the talking for her. However, its not her style that stands out the most. It's how confident she is that makes me look at her and just go WOW. She has that aura of authority and self assurance, and she is never afraid to pull a silly face and look 'horrible' and I think that's what makes her even more likeable.

After looking at what Cara likes to wear and her personality, have made three outfits that I could see her in.
Beginning with the suit outfit, the suit itself is from Dorothy Perkins, Shoes from Valentino, Ring from Fendi, Bangle from www.ARTSANDESIGNGAI.com, and Earrings from www.RINGSANDTINGS.com. The second outfit: The Dip dye jumper for www.JulesB.co.uk, Jeans from www.grindstore.com. Shoes from www.NASTYGAL.com, Skull earrings from www.BLUEBANANA.com, Camera earrings from Macy's and Bracelet from www.COAST-STORES.com. The third outfit: The hoodie from www.JUKUPOP.com, Top from www.FOREVER21.com, Jeans from River Island,  Shoes from www.shopfiiscompany.com, Earrings from www.Target.com and Cat necklace from Ebay.

So the moral of the story today? Confidence is the key to pulling off an outfit. Your outfit could cost hundreds of pounds but without the confidence you make it look as cheap as lollipops, whereas there could be someone else where everything they bought from the charity/thrift shop but the could make it look worth so much because they have their head up and smiling. You can use the street, your school hallway, even the walk to the kitchen as a catwalk, just keep your head up and smile. Just fake your confidence and before you realise it, you will be confident in who you are and what you are wearing.  No one's going to see your amazing smile or eyes if you're looking down! So remember: FAKE IT 'TILL YOU MAKE IT!

Celebrity Style Day 1 :- Leah McFall

I first encountered Leah, from her Youtube Channel, Leah McFall, and the first thing I noticed was how well she dressed. It wasn't anything completely out there but she had a genius sense of style. Her outfits are so simple and effortless, she doesn't over do her uniqueness which I think too many people are doing at the moment. Oh and did I mention her hair?! I instantly fell in love with it, because it looked like those chocolate and vanilla ice creams I used to only get once in a blue moon. It's one of those styles where you either love it or hate it, there is no in-between, and you would get quite a few stares of admiration. Or maybe of disgust. Either way, she isn't someone you would merely walk past on the street without noticing, and that's important when trying to create a name for yourself.

I made 2 outfits inspired by Leah, the sunglasses and tartan jacket were vintage but the two bags are from New Look, the Dungarees are from House Of Fraser, the shorts and shoes are from H&M, the cat sweater and the romper jacket are from www.ShopJeen.com. I will be updating when I find anything similar to the vintage pieces.

So my message today? Never over do trying to look 'different' because then you just look a mess which is probably not the look you were going for. Just one piece that is big and bold can make you look more stylish than you think, whether its those amazing pair of shoes or that funky flower crown you've been dying to wear for like EVER, don't let fear get the better of you, you never know who's eye you might catch with that catchy slogan top on ;).

Welcome!

By some kind of twist of fate you have found my blog! So I thought I would introduce myself making sure you aren’t feeling lost in my some what different world. The name is Zavina and I am a teenager that has lately been finding it very hard to express myself. My world consists of people who simply don’t care and all dress and act exactly the same, and its difficult to be different when you will end up being looked upon as a ‘weirdo’ or a ‘freak’. You are bombarded with the message with the words ‘Be Yourself!’ with a picture of a glamorous 6ST, 5’10″ model next to it, and the article filled with diet tips and celebrity sob stories. I have had enough of that and I decided to take to the internet. Maybe create my own message to you, but more importantly help you make and embrace a message for yourself. You can’t just simply go through life with the same message as everyone else. That’s not you. It shouldn’t be you. As I’m on the path on my way to finding myself, you might hit that person inside of you, waiting to explode onto the dynamic earth we live on. Welcome to my life.

Welcome to the-zealousfashion-life.
